GETTING TO VENICE
BY FLIGHT
or BY TRAIN?
VENICE MARCO POLO AIRPORT (VCE)
Reach Venice by taxi (€40) or bus (€10–12) to Piazzale Roma, then continue on foot or by vaporetto. Alilaguna waterbuses (€18–20) offer a slower, scenic arrival, while private water taxis (€100+) take you directly near your hotel. Avoid relying on Uber.
VENICE SANTA LUCIA TRAIN STATION
If you are visiting other parts of Italy before the wedding, train is often the easiest way. Venice's Santa Lucia station sits right in the historic center. From there you can walk, take a water taxi (costs of a taxi from the train station to San Marco is around €60), or take a vaporetto.

A FEW CONSIDERATIONS ON STAYING IN VENICE
Venice Proper is the most convenient option, placing you close to our San Marco wedding venue and the city’s main sights. Everywhere in the island is easily explored on foot or by vaporetto, but accommodation is usually the most expensive.
Another option to sleep is Mestre. Mestre offers significantly lower prices and frequent train and bus connections to Venice, making it a practical, budget-friendly base, although there is little reason to spend time there.
Lido and Giudecca islands provide a quieter, more attractive alternative with beaches and generally affordable stays. However, they are accessible only by boat, and returning after a late night may require an expensive water taxi instead of vaporetto.
